Survey and assessment

Many buildings have smoke vents, AOVs or shafts that nobody fully understands any more: drawings are missing, the system has been altered, or it has simply been forgotten. We survey occupied buildings, and buildings complete and in use, and report clearly on the position.

What a survey covers

  • What is installed and how it compares with the design information available
  • Shortcomings in the original design, the installation or the maintenance
  • A written report of findings and the matters to be addressed

The right standard for the building's age

An existing building is assessed against the standards and guidance that applied when it was designed. Our reports state which edition has been used, and note where current guidance differs materially.

Surveys are non-intrusive.
